Zero

Im sure you’ve heard of the saying “become ONE with the universe”. But I’ve been thinking, ZERO seems like a much more suitable description of true ‘union’ (for lack of a better word).

So here’s what I imagine (I warn you, I’ve got a WILD imagination…)

According to what I understand about mathematics, everything is fundamentally made up of zeros and ones. But I think zero describes the nature of the Ultimate more authentically than one.

We clearly do not have an appropriate vocabulary in the english language to begin to describe such phenomena, but I think we can do better than unity/singularity/one

The concept of singularity (as opposed to duality) is symbolized in the yin/yang, and personified in shiva/shakti:

If one plus one does not equal two (duality),

Then one plus one should equal zero, not one….

You’re going to have to follow real close here…

My thoughts are; zero is both nonexistent and existent simultaneously. Essentially, zero is nothing… but for there to be nothing, there has to be something for it to not be. Therefore, in my mind, zero is the point of singularity (one dimensional?) in the sense that it is and is not at the same time. It is both potential and actual without having a distinct direction.

Ummm, okay, Im crazy right?

  2. hsbutoy answered: That’s such a deep theory!
  3. gram-volsung answered: Yes. Also, no. Probably, but definitely maybe.
  4. iusedtobeaflowerfaerie said: we are always safe at zero, a clean slate, pure love and infinite possibilities , we jump around the rest of the numbers and get too caught up in the plot sometimes but we will always be the zero
  5. iusedtobeaflowerfaerie answered: makes perfect sense to me anyways. 0 the way it looks too—is a circle that goes on and on, like the snake eating its tail
